LADY GAGA & GREYSON 97-SUPPORT THE GULF - STAND BY US - PLEASE !

Oil, as the well as the dispersants, have toxic qualities that can outright kill marine life or, much more difficult to assess, have non-lethal impacts such as impaired reproductive capacity. It all depends upon dose, which is why it is so essential to stop this oil from spilling, which is still happening after 37 days.

Citizens can volunteer to help save the wildlife and restore the wetlands from impacts of the BP oil spill by signing a petition being sent to President Obama . The complete toll on fish and wildlife will never be fully known. We discovered a bottom-dwelling eel floating dead on the surface of the oil slick, but who knows how many more will die and never surface. Given that the Deepwater Horizon disaster happened miles offshore and in 5,000 feet of water, we'll never know the true toll. Additionally, the extensive use of dispersants a mile below the surface is increasing the impact on the marine life because it inhibits the oil from forming slicks on the surface, but widely dispersing the oil

We are extremely frustrated with the misinformation and the lack of information about the oil spill's size and water quality, air quality sampling and observed impacts....

How much of the oil is spilled into the Gulf is important in determining the appropriate response to clean it up and for scientists to know as they study the effects....

We sent a letter to President Obama last week asking for the federal government to take over the aspects of human health and safety as well as assessment of damages. We've also asked for him to make sure that accurate estimates have been made. BP has said that they can't estimate the oil spill size. Come on, BP is an expert in using pipelines for transportation of oil. It doesn't ring true that they can't estimate it. There have been two independent scientific assessments by university professors of the oil spill. According to Dr. Steve Werely, professor of engineering at Purdue University, this spill is 10 times larger than the Exxon Valdez spill. This is potentially the largest environmental catastrophe this nation has faced in decades.

BP is telling us it doesn't matter what size it is. It does matter. It matters to the birds, the fish, the nation's waters. If that much oil is going into the nation's waters, don't we have a right to know about it?

Please sign the Petition we will be sending to BP as well as the White House by following the link below.
